What really happens during a dustless sand
No sheets over the furniture and no grey film on the bookshelves. Here is how a dustless sand works, hour by hour.

“Dustless” sounds like a sales word. It isn’t quite magic, but done properly it means you can sleep in the house while we work. Here is what actually happens.
The machines
Every sander we run is wired to a sealed vacuum unit parked outside. The dust is pulled through the pad, down a hose and out of the house before it can hang in the air.
Edges and corners get the same treatment with smaller extractor sanders, so the skirting boards stay clean too.
Three passes, one room at a time
We sand in three passes, coarse to fine, and seal off the room we are working in with zip doors. The rest of the house stays open and usable.
Between passes we vacuum the floor and check it under a raking light, so scratches are caught before the finish locks them in.
What you will notice
A low hum from the van, a faint smell of fresh timber, and a fine film you can wipe off with one cloth. That is usually it.
